Two Monkeys

"That's quite a feat,to escape from a crocodile            with your liver intact,"

says one monkey to another,as they eat chapattis,chapattis stolen from a cat.

"Escape, escape!That's the whole point of my life.It would be boring otherwise."

"Must we behave like monkeys?"Second monkey continues."Can't we learn something else?"

Sujata Bhatt

Sujata Bhatt nació en Ahmedabad, India, y se crió en Pune, India, y en EEUU. Hasta el momento ha editado siete colecciones de poemas con la casa editorial Carcanet. Ha recibido numerosos reconocimientos, tales como el Commonwealth Poetry Prize (Asia), y el Cholmondeley Award. Su último libro, Pure Lizard, estuvo entre los finalistas para el Forward Prize y recibió el premio Das neue Buch, en 2008, en Alemania. Bhatt ha traducido poesía del gujarati al alemán y al inglés. Sus poemas han sido también publicados en varias antologías, producidos para radio y televisión, y han sido traducidos a más de veinte lenguas. En la actualidad reside en Alemania con su familia.
