Equitek E100S Supercardioid Condenser Microphone

The Equitek E100S from CAD is a large diaphragm supercardioid condenser microphone (see Figure 1). At the time of its release the company claimed that this microphone had the lowest noise floor of any in its class at 3.7 dBA. The E100S also features a 1-in. nickel-plated capsule for accurate phasing and rich vocal tone. The frequency response ranges from 40 Hz to 18 kHz, the sensitivity is–30 dBV at 1 Pa, and the impedance is 150 ohms. Ahigh-pass (80 Hz) filter and 10 dB pad are provided and the maximum SPL is 150 dB with the pad engaged.

The microphone is packaged in a vintage cherry case and a shock mount is also included. Phantom power is required for operation.

The Equitek E100S is listed for US$ 799. Contact: CAD Professional Microphones, 6573 Cochran Rd. Bldg. I, Solon, Ohio 44139, USA; telephone (+1) 800-762-9266; fax (+1) 440-248-4902; electronic mail sales@cadmics.com; Web www.cadmics.com/.
