Annotated Bibliographies in ELT: Completed and Projected: We have awaiting space in ELT completed annotated bibliographies on John Addington Symonds, Richard Le Gallienne, John Gray (primary and secondary), John Freeman, and others. In addition, as the Bibliography, News, and Notes section indicates, many similar projects are in progress. We hope to publish at least two of the completed ones in the current volume. 5. Postage and the Economics of Publishing: We are again mailing Nos 1 and 2 together in order to reduce postal costs and the cost of envelopes. For the same reason, we shall mail Nos 3 and 4 together , hopefully in October. We do this so that we will not have to reduce the number of pages per issue or again increase subscription rates. Whissen (Wright State University) writes that he is currently teaching s "senior and graduate level course entitled English 410/610: English Literature in Transition, 1880-1920." He reports that students are "gratifyingly enthusiastic." 2. MLA Division on Late 19th- and Early 20th-century English Literature: In MLA Newsletter. VI (Dec 1974) we note the announce ment of a new MLA membership structure, based on a survey taken a few years ago. We are pleased that a sufficient number of the MLA membership indicated an interest in the ELT period to warrant its recognition in the new (effective 1 Jan 1976) MLA membership structure . The members of each Division will in due course be given the opportunity to elect their own Executive Committee. 3. V Symposium International James Joyce. Paris 1975: The Fifth International James Joyce Symposium will be held from June 16th to June 20th, in Paris. The Fifth Symposium, which is organized under the patronage of the French Association, "Patrimoine Historique et Artistique de la France," has already been granted official sponsorship of the Rectorat de l'Académie de Pairis, the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, and The British Council. The Attaché Culturel of Unesco has also expressed warm interest in the project and offered the cooperation of his services. During the week of the Symposium, various related events are planned that will include: a Joyce exhibit, under the. direction of Bernard Gheerbrant, who organized the first Joyce exhibit (Paris I949); a Joyce Film Festival; concerts and theatrical performances devoted to or inspired by Joyce's work. The French painter, André Masson, has given prmission for his signed line-drawing, "Hommage ä James Joyce" (1949)· to be used as a poster, program cover, etc. Gisèle Freund will show her remarkable photographic record of Joyce in Paris. In the U.S., registration forms are available from B. International Association for the Study of Anglo-Irish Literature T The 1976 Conference of IASAIL will be held at University College, Galway. The provisional dates arranged for the Conference are Monday, July 19 - Friday, July 23, 1976. The Conference will be organized by Professor Lorna Reynolds, M. A., Ph. D., University College, Galway, Chairman of the Conference Sub-Committee. 5. The Chesterton Review; The first journal devoted to the study of the late G. K. Chesterton, the influential English essayist, poet and novelist, has been established at the University of Saskatchewan , Saskatoon. The journal will include articles on all aspects of the writer's life and work and will also serve as the newsletter of the Chesterton Society, which was formed last May in England. It will be published twice annually with the first issue appearing in November 1974. The editor of The Chesterton Review is Father Ian Eoyd, of St. Thomas More College"!
