A Note from the Editors

As this issue of Theory & Event goes to virtual press, we announce with sorrow news of the sudden death of S. Paige Baty, a young political theorist. Baty, who taught at Williams College through 1996, was to take up an appointment at the University of Arizona for this coming academic year. She was the author of American Monroe: The Making of a Body Politic (California, 1995) and was working on several book length studies when she died. We will attempt to take a fuller measure of her life and work in the next issue.
