Abstract

Although Burroughs experienced moderate success with its medium- and small-sized computers, the company’s large-scale systems and supercomputers were plagued by product delivery delays and quality issues. These struggles with its large-scale commercial products left it at a serious disadvantage in the competitive market of the 1980s.
