Abstract

The Ontarian writer R. Dickson and the writer from Brittany H. Carn give voice to events that break chronological time. One of the ways in which they do so is by interrupting syntactic units with rhythmical pauses or blank spaces that function as a syncope. Poems thus consitute untimely events, performing their broken rhythm.
