Special Issues

This double issue of the Journal of the History of Sexuality is a special one--the first in which all the articles have a common theme. Future special issues of JHS will examine recent periods in history--"Sexuality in Fascist Germany" (2002) and "Sexuality and Politics since 1945" (2003). This issue addresses "Sexuality in Late Antiquity," a period when traditional sexual mores in the Mediterranean basin were challenged in a variety of fundamental ways. We are grateful to the two scholars who have served as guest editors for this issue--Daniel Boyarin and Elizabeth A. Castelli--for securing a set of distinguished, related, and often provocative studies. We welcome suggestions about other topics that might warrant special issues of this journal.
