From the Editor

I want to thank the Offices of the Provost and the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, the College of Arts and Letters, and the Department of English for substantial support to the journal, its editor, and my assistant Anna Feuerstein. This double issue draws on the strength and breadth of interest in mimetic theory, inside and outside The Colloquium on Violence and Religion. At the position in the journal I will always think of as belonging to Elizabeth Bailie (see Vol. 12–13), we reprint “Oranges from Spain,” a fine short story by the remarkable writer David Park. It is a good way to begin thinking about Apocalypse, the subject of our next issue.
