This special issue, guest edited by Kim Haines-Eitzen and Georgia Frank, collects six essays on the theme "Bodies and Boundaries in Late Antiquity" in honor of Patricia Cox Miller. It is appropriate that JECS publish these essays, not only because Professor Miller's work has been so influential in the field, but also because she has made an important contribution to the success of the journal. Professor Miller has served as an Associate Editor since the founding of JECS; in this role she has provided me and my predecessors with invaluable advice and counsel on numerous issues, large and small. She has contributed many of her best essays to our pages. This issue expresses the gratitude of the journal's editorial team and of the North American Patristics Society for her scholarship and service. [End Page v]
