Stephen Olbrys Gencarella is Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In 2003, he earned a joint Ph.D. from the Folklore Institute and the Department of Communication and Culture at Indiana University.

Deidre Rose is Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Guelph. Her doctoral research focused on popular theatre for AIDS awareness and prevention in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Moira Smith is the subject librarian for anthropology, folklore, sociology, and social work at Indiana University. She is the editor of the Journal of Folklore Research and the author of articles about humor, witchcraft, and New Zealand folklore.
