Abstract

This essay is a response to Michelle Citron, whose work enhanced the author's appreciation for her own family's photography. She discusses a series of photographs that her father took of her mother when she was giving birth to the author. Her father, who was an amateur photographer, took hundreds of pictures of the family until his death when the author was two-and-a-half years old.
