Abstract

Collective identity and belonging represent key ways in which traditional patterns of Arabization and Islamization are questioned in Djebar’s work. Her broad vision of past and present creates an enabling framework that allows for the inscription of the postcolonial female Algerian subject through a critical re-visioning of positionality and place.
