Abstract

This article discusses the project to digitize the landmark series, Francis of Assisi: Early Documents and Clare of Assisi: Early Documents by the Institute for Digital Theology at Saint Louis University. The article describes some of the steps required for undertaking a digital project of this sort and reflects on the implications of the completed digital resource for the study of Franciscan Spirituality. The study concludes that this digital resource enhances study of these text greatly by allowing the user to compare and search texts in English or Latin, thereby providing a new level of critical study.
