In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

  • Note from the Editor

The material in this bibliography is a selection from the 1,212 items in Children's Literature Abstracts No. 73, March 1991 through No. 76, March 1992; see the paid advertisement at the end of this bibliography. In order to meet our page-count restrictions, we have observed the same priorities for inclusion listed in the note from the editor in last year's bibliography (17.2 Summer 1992). We have cut the abstracts to as few words as possible and excluded essay reviews of books which have appeared in previous bibliographies.

The copyright to Children's Literature Abstracts is held by the International Federation of Library Associations, and the Children's Literature Association has thought it advisable to retain only those abstracts provided by myself and other members of the Children's Literature Association and to run the title information, which is free from copyright, for the few items by Abstracts abstractors who are not members. Occasionally I have added a brief note.

We again urge our members to let us know about articles that they have published which do not appear in children's literature journals so that we may list them. A xerox of articles not in the standard U.S. children's literature journals that you would like to have considered for the Article Award should be sent directly to Claire-Lise Malarte, Dept. of French & Italian, University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH 03824. Books for the Book Award should go to Priscilla Ord, P.O. Box 907, Farmville, VA 23901. Send books for review to our review editor, Susan Gannon. Abstracts of articles and books by members will continue to be given top priority for inclusion in future bibliographies. [End Page 50]
