Clima, clima del dia,cielo plagado de nubarrones blancos.Ni la nostalgia es capazde penetrar sus intenciones.Dicen que las nubes arderánal mediodía de los tiempos.Una frase podrá expresarloo hacerlo permanecer a oscuras.
Un hogar, una fogata dentro,asomará a los ojosal menos un vez.Brasa fraseada.
Ahí mismo, se irá avivando una criatura,un sueño estrellado en la pupila,amanecerde música tristísima:sequías, inundaciones,florecimiento, marchitez.Que no ha llovido.Que llueve de más.Que los frutos no maduran.Que, de pronto, una floraparece justo a tiempo.Y la mano se le acerca.Así comienza el día,así le ha dado vozla frase:
Aquella eterna fonte está ascondida,qué bien sé yo do tiene su manida,aunque es de noche. [End Page 72]

Climate, climate of day,the heavens plagued with big white clouds.Not even nostalgia canpenetrate their intentions.Some say that clouds burn upin the midday sun.A phrase could express itor consign it to darkness.
A home, a roaring fire inside,will catch your eyeat least once.Fire tongue.
Right here, a creature will rise,a dream will explode in the pupil,dawnof the saddest music:droughts, floods,bloom, decay.It hasn't rained.It rains too much.Fruit doesn't ripen.Then, suddenly, a flowerappears right on time.And the hand approaches it.So begins the day,so it has given voiceto the phrase:
Its eternal fount is hidden.Even so, full well I know from whence it flows,though it be night. [End Page 73]
Pura López-Colomé nacío en Mexico, D.F. en 1952. Es autora de varios volúmenes de poesía en español, entre los más recientes se hallan: Tragaluz de Noche (2003) y Música Inaudita: Poesia 1985-2000 (2002). No Shelter, una selección de sus poemas traducidos por Forrest Gander, fue editado por Graywolf Press en 2002. Sus traducciones incluyen versiones de trabajos por Samuel Beckett, Seamus Heaney, H.D., y otros. Actualmente reside en Cuernavaca, México, con su familia.
Pura López-Colomé was born in Mexico City in 1952. She is the author of several volumes of poetry in Spanish, most recently Tragaluz de Noche (2003) and Música Inaudita: Poesia 1985-2000 (2002). No Shelter, a volume of her selected poems translated by Forrest Gander, was published by Graywolf Press in 2002. Her translations include renderings of Samuel Beckett, Seamus Heaney, H.D., and others into Spanish. She currently lives in Cuernavaca, Mexico, with her family.

Shearsman Books editará en el otoño de 2007 Aurora, que consiste en su traducciones de la poesía de Pura López-Colomé.
