Glenn M. Robins is associate professor of history at Georgia Southwestern State University. He is the author of The Bishop of the Old South: The Ministry and Civil War Legacy of Leonidas Polk (Mercer University Press, 2006). He is currently editing “The Civil War POW Diary of Sgt. Lyle G. Adair, 111th U.S. Colored Infantry.”

John M. Sacher is assistant professor of history at the University of Central Florida. He is the author of A Perfect War of Politics: Parties, Politicians, and Democracy in Louisiana, 1824–1861 (Louisiana State University Press, 2003), winner of the 2003 Kemper and Leila Williams Prize for best book on Louisiana history. He is currently working on a book on Confederate conscription.

Christian G. Samito is an attorney with the Boston firm Donovan Hatem and recently completed a Ph.D. in American legal history at Boston College. He is most recently the editor of Fear Was Not In Him: The Civil War Letters of Major General Francis C. Barlow, USA (Fordham University Press, 2004).
