[End Page 308] SALAH AL-HAMDANI, poeta iraquí, actor y dramaturgo. Nació en Bagdad en 1951. Durante los pasados treinta años ha vivido en exilio en Francia, haciendo pública su voz contra la dictadura de Saddam Hussein, sus guerras, y la ocupación angloamericana. Comenzó a escribir cuando tenía alrededor de veinte años, momento en el que era un prisionero político. Salah Al-Hamdani es el autor de numerosas obras literarias, entre ellas historias, cuentos y poemas, en árabe y en francés. Algunos de sus textos fueron editados clandestinamente en Irak, en revistas literarias, durante los años de la dictadura. Al-Hamdani colaboró también con Saad Salman en la escritura del libreto para su película titulada Bagdad on/off.

SALAH AL-HAMDANI, an Iraqi poet, actor, and playwright, was born in Baghdad in 1951. He has been living in exile in France for thirty years, voicing his opposition to the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein, his wars, and the Anglo-American occupation. He began writing as a political prisoner in his early twenties. Salah Al-Hamdani is the author of numerous literary works including tales, short stories and poems in both Arabic and French. Some of his texts were published in Arabic in clandestine journals in Iraq during the dictatorship. Al-Hamdani assisted Saad Salman in writing the dialogues for his film Baghdad on/off.

Aphek también es poeta y artista, ha editado un libro de poemas y publicado numerosos poemas en revistas literarias; algunos de sus poemas han sido traducidos al inglés, y por vez primera aparecen aquí también en castellano.

EDNA APHEK, a linguist, lecturer, and researcher in the areas of Hebrew literature and education. She is also a poet and an artist. Aphek has published one book of poetry and many poems in literary journals. Some of her poems have been translated into English, and for the first time they appear in Spanish in this journal.

MICHAEL AUGUSTIN resides en Bremen, Alemania, trabaja como poeta y locutor en Radio Bremen, para la cual conduce un programa radial de poesía y sirve como editor de los documentales radiales semanales. Es autor de varios libros de poesía, drama y prosa breve, y ha recibido numerosos premios por sus obras.

MICHAEL AUGUSTIN lives in Bremen, Germany, where he works as a poet and broadcaster with Radio Bremen. He hosts a regular poetry program and edits a weekly radio documentary. He is the author of many volumes of poetry, drama and short prose, for which he has received numerous awards.
