Notes on Contributors

Martin Davies worked in the Incunabula Section of the British Library until 1998, and was Editor of The Library from 1993 to 1998.

Neil Harris teaches bibliography at the University of Udine in Italy. He specializes in the history of Italian Renaissance publishing and is currently working on the printing of the Aldine Hypnerotomachia Poliphili (1499). He is also collaborating as Italian editor with the forthcoming Oxford Companion to the Book.

William Kemp is Research Associate in the French Department at McGill Univerisity, where he works on various aspects of book history during the reign of Francis I. He recently published, in collaboration with Jean-François Gilmont, a volume of articles on Le Livre évangélique en français avant Calvin / The French Evangelical Book before Calvin (Brepols, 2004).

Alistair McCleery is Professor of Literature and Culture at Napier University, where he directs the Scottish Centre for the Book. He is co-editor of The Bibliotheck and co-director of the SAPPHIRE initiative. Recent publications include Introduction to Book History (Routledge, 2005, with David Finkelstein) and The Book History Reader (Routledge, 2nd revised edition 2006, co-edited with David Finkelstein).
