He is the author of Knocking on the Door: The Federal Government’s Attempt to Desegregate the Suburbs (Princeton University Press, 2006).

Joeseph Crespino is Assistant Professor of History at Emory University. His book, The Last Days of Jim Crow: Mississippi and the Conservative Counterrevolution, is forthcoming from Princeton University Press.
