Itinerarios del Sonido

Itineraries in Sound was a public art project offering citizens and visitors to Madrid, Spain, a novel perspective on the city. Fourteen different artists (including composers, poets, and visual artists) explored the city of Madrid and selected a location as a point of departure for a new sound piece composed specifically for Itineraries. During the period 21 May– 25 September 2005, each piece was installed in a bus stop located at the specific area chosen by the artist. The pieces were available to passers-by who would plug their own headphones in to experience the works. Artists included Luc Ferrari and Trevor Wishart, among others.

The project included a series of lectures, concerts, and round-table discussions led by the artists during their visits, and is documented in CD, DVD, book, and Web form.
