The Blackness of Blackness. .. Reading the Typography of Invisible Man

This article reads the role of typography in Ralph Ellison's novel, Invisible Man, and implicitly calls for attention to "scripts" in theatre studies. More specifically, the essay argues that the ellipses in Invisible Man play a role in our understanding of "the blackness of blackness," which is a key motif in the novel and in black performance in general.
