Michael Butler is a screenwriter whose credits include eight feature films, three television pilots, several cable television movies, and twenty installments of various serial-TV dramas. The father of three sons, he and his wife, Robin Ferry, live on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.

David Eliscu works as a clinician in New Haven, Connecticut, at a residential transitional program for the seriously mentally ill. In addition to writing this article on being a child of the blacklist, he interviewed his father for the book Tender Comrades and edited his father's autobiography, With or without a Song.

Daniel Gorney left the United States in 1971 for England, where he met Efi, a lovely Greek woman, on a train. Along their journey together, they raised Alex and Tatiana in Athens. After a thirty-year love affair, Efi died of cancer. Alex, a computer geek in London, has two other children, with Aleka, a professor at Kings College.

Joanna E. Rapf is a professor of English and film and video studies at the University of Oklahoma. Her son, Alex Eaton, continues the family film tradition as a cameraman in New York City.

Nikola Trumbo is a psychotherapist in Seattle. She also teaches at Pacific Oaks College, where she talks with students about environmental issues. In her spare time, she enjoys photography and looks forward to having more time to write.

Geraldine Van Dusen is a managing editor at St. Martin's Press in New York City. She has published a children's book and written articles for the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Parents magazine, Hudson Valley, and other publications. She and her husband, Matthew Rosen, live in Ossining, New York, and play violin and cello together in various chamber music groups.
