It is with regret that we announce the death of Richard Popkin. Professor Popkin was the author of an astonishingly numerous and striking collection of studies of philosophy and radicalism in the long eighteenth century, from skepticism to millenarianism, notably Spinoza and Pierre Bayle. In particular, Professor Popkin contributed very significantly to Jewish intellectual history. Popkin's work included a number of editions. He was a founding member of ASECS, and served for many years on the ASECS Board.
