Editor's Comments

This issue begins my first volume as editor of Victorian Periodicals Review, and I hope that you will approve of the new cover paper I have chosen to signify the editorial shift. Parchment reminds me of the elegant look displayed in early Victorian literary annuals, and our trademark framing design replicates decorative features often found in periodicals of a later artistic period. Perhaps we can view the stylistic meeting as representative of our mission to better understand the fascinating diversity of Victorian periodicals and their role in the history and culture of Victorian Britain, Ireland, and the Empire. I look forward to serving members of the Research Society for Victorian Periodicals, and I welcome comments and suggestions about Victorian Periodicals Review.
