Sharon A. Beehler is Associate Professor of English at Montana State University, Bozeman, where she specializes in sixteenth-century studies, Shakespeare, and pedagogy. She is co-editor of the Shakespeare Yearbook volume, Shakespeare and Higher Education: A Global Perspective, and of Women, Violence, and the English Renaissance: Essays Honoring Paul Jorgensen. She is also the editor of Quidditas, the journal of the Rocky Mountain Medieval and Renaissance Association.
Gregory Dubrow is Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Department of the College of Education at Florida International University. He has written and presented on issues of curriculum reform, institutional culture, access and equity, and institutional accountability.
Douglas J. Eder is Associate Professor and Director of both Undergraduate Assessment and Program Review and The Undergraduate Research Academy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He graduated from The College of Wooster with a baccalaureate degree in religion and received his Master's in endocrinology and Ph.D. in physiology and biophysics from Florida State University. Beginning in 1987 he became involved in the construction of SIUE's assessment program. Consequently, Doug has visited many campuses to facilitate assessment conversations and served as the Emerson Visiting Distinguished Scholar at Hamilton College in 2000–01. He presents regularly at regional and national forums for assessment and faculty development.
Terrel Rhodes is Vice Provost for Curriculum and Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Portland State University. As such, he supervises the Office of University Studies, the University Honors College, and the undergraduate curriculum process. He also serves as the institutional liaison for accreditation and oversees the community college relations initiative, the alignment of student learning expectations on campus with the Oregon University System Proficiency-based Admissions Standards System, the assessment of student learning outcomes, the undergraduate research program, the Ronald E. McNair Program, and faculty vitality and course redesign initiatives. He is the author of three books and several articles, book chapters, and grant proposals. He received his B.A. at Indiana University in Bloomington and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has held appointments at St. John's University in Minnesota and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Mary Kathryn Tetreault served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Portland State University from 1999 to July 2004. She is the author (with Frances Maher) of The Feminist Classroom, published [End Page v] in 1994 by Basic Books; the second edition was issued in 2001 by Rowman and Littlefield. She, along with Maher, is presently writing a book on privilege and diversity in the academy.
Lisa E. Wolf-Wendel is Associate Professor of Higher Education at the University of Kansas and currently coordinates the Higher Education Master's Program. Her research focuses broadly on equity issues concerning women and people of color in higher education. [End Page vi]
