From the Editor

In Fall, 1998 R. W. Franklin’s major new edition, The Poems of Emily Dickinson: Variorum Edition was published by the Belknap Press of Harvard University Press. I am pleased to announce the Fall 1999 Special Issue of The Emily Dickinson Journal, devoted to the Franklin Variorum. It will include essays by an assortment of Dickinson scholars who will discuss the significance of the Franklin Variorum and its potential impact on research and teaching in the new century. The Special Issue will be co-edited by myself and Gary Lee Stonum.
