Abstract The Good Behavior Game was modified in this study to include a token
reinforcement system. This modified intervention, the Good Behavior Game Plus Merit
(GBG+ M), proved successful in reducing disruptive behavior and improving assignment
completion in two students designated as high-risk for placement in a behaviorally impaired
classroom. General acceptability and uses of the intervention are discussed as are its
implications for school psychologists wishing to provide preventive services to schools.
