Hey Joe
In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

after j.h. & them

i heard you shot your lady down
and there was no clap of the
bullet. no explosion
just her deflating body
a sweet whistle gone

i heard you shot your lady down
and there was dancing
people mistook you
for saying get down! as in
dance rather than don’t
get shot

i heard you shot your lady down
and she expanded
eyes billowing into the
small apartment up the chimney
becoming everything and
strangely enough not a damn
thing at all

i heard you shot your lady down
& she liked it
i heard you shot your lady down
hands on her hips
you shot your lady down
chin pressed out
your lady down
on her knees
lady down
dead.
