From the Editor
In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

This issue completes Volume 21. In addition to two stimulating articles, it offers a selection of four informative reviews as well as a short In Memoriam piece in celebration of the life of Helen Trugman. I first met Helen in 1999 in Leipzig, at the FDSL conference. Her warmth, vibrancy, and intelligence impressed me immediately, and we since stayed in close touch. Helen’s untimely passing marks a great loss to family, friends, and colleagues. : May her memory be a blessing.

JSL and the Slavic Linguistics Society have been maturing together. The annual meetings are now firmly established, and continue to alternate between the United States and Europe. The next will take place at the University of Szczecin, Poland, from 25 to 27 October 2013. I hope to see many old and new faces there.

There have been some recent changes in the Editorial Board. Leaving JSL are David Birnbaum, Ron Feldstein, and Jerzy Rubach. Your many years of service are much appreciated and I hope you will continue to consider the Journal as an outlet of choice for your research. Joining the Board are Masako Ueda Fidler, Peter Kosta, Jouko Lindstedt, and Anita Peti-Stantić. These individuals not only add diversity in expertise to the Board but also strengthen the international complexion of the Society.

Also new to JSL is Managing Editor Tyler Madsen. He has replaced Muamera Begović in handling the day-to-day operations of the Journal. Please join me in welcoming Tyler and in thanking Muamera for all her efforts on behalf of JSL.
