Abstract

Resumen:

El presente artículo expone los resultados de una encuesta realizada entre los residentes de Morelia para conocer su percepción acerca del centro histórico de la ciudad, mismo que forma parte de la Lista Representativa del Patrimonio Mundial desde 1991. El estudio se realizó mediante un cuestionario aplicado a una muestra de residentes en la ciudad. Los resultados dejan de manifiesto que la zona monumental de Morelia es portadora de una gran carga simbólica en la percepción de los residentes, y es también, el lugar preferido para residir y realizar actividades recreativas. En cuanto a la percepción de necesidades de la zona central, destaca mayor seguridad y mejor equipamiento urbano en el tema de estacionamientos y transporte público.

Abstract:

This paper presents the results of a survey conducted among residents of Morelia to study their perceptions about the historic center of the city, which is part of the World Heritage List since 1991. The study was conducted through a survey to group of city’s inhabitants. The results revealed that the monumental area of Morelia is carrying a heavy symbolic burden in the perception of the residents, and is also the preferred place to reside and engage in recreational activities. In terms of the perception of needs in the central zone, stresses safety and best urban equipment on the issues of parking and public transport
