Dr. Elijah J. Schochet retired after thirty-nine years as rabbi of the Shomrei Torah Synagogue in West Hills, CA. He is the author of seven books on rabbinic studies, and currently serves as Professor of Talmud at the Academy for Jewish Religion in Los Angeles.
