Vol. 19 (2011) through current issue

WOMEN IN FRENCH exists to promote the study of women writers and women in civilization in the French-speaking world. An additional purpose of the organization is to share information and concerns about the status of women in Francophone countries and in higher education in North America. WOMEN IN FRENCH is an Allied Organization of the Modern Language Association and a member of the Council of Editors of Learned Journals.

WOMEN IN FRENCH STUDIES is a publication of WOMEN IN FRENCH. It is published once a year. WOMEN IN FRENCH also publishes special volumes at regular intervals.

Submission Guidelines



WOMEN IN FRENCH STUDIES

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

Manuscripts in English or in French should be between 15 and 20 pages in length (double spaced, including notes and a list of works cited). Please place the notes and the list of works cited at the end of the essay. We prefer that you keep notes to a minimum. Most references can be included in the body of the text. We follow the MLA STYLE MANUAL; consult previous volumes for punctuation and other questions of form; if the essay is in French, please take into account French typographical norms. For both languages, put titles of works in italics; do not underline. Keep extra formatting to a strict minimum. As a space-saver, only use one space after each sentence. Please send ONE COPY of your essay (blind submission), a short abstract, and your email address to the Executive Editor, Juliette Rogers (jmrogers@macalester.edu). Please write your essay in the language in which you feel you can best convey your ideas.
