On the back is the title banner from the 2006 NAVSA/NASSR Conference at Purdue and "Figures 36b, 37, 38, and 39: Amorphocephalus granulatus, Seleima aurata, Mugil bispinosus, and Bodianus maculatus," from T. Edward Bowdich, Excursions in Madeira and Porto Santo During the Autumn of 1823 . . . (London: George B. Whittaker, 1825).

Changes at VS: With this issue, VS welcomes two dedicated editorial interns, Allison Reu and Madison Natt.

A senior majoring in English, intern Madison Natt will also receive a certificate in journalism and a minor in psychology. Madison isn't really sure what she wants to do when she graduates, which is too bad, since it's going to happen really soon. She only knows that she likes to write and edit and hopes this will somehow magically help her find employment. Madison has enjoyed her internship at VS because it fits her interests and has helped her delay entering the real world by another semester. She would like to thank the staff at VS for giving her this opportunity.

Allison Reu is a junior double majoring in English and Communication and Culture with a minor in Spanish. Her interests include writing fiction, running long distances, contemplating what she will do after she graduates, and right-clicking on track changes when editing documents. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time at VS and will miss it, especially the entertaining conversations she overhears between the editors. She would like to thank the staff for everything they have taught her, from editing techniques to the intricate world of cross-reading.

The Northeast Victorian Studies Association is pleased to announce the winner of the Sonya Rudikoff Award for the best first book on Victorian literature and/or culture. The Sonya Rudikoff Award was established by the Robert Gutman family in honor of Mr. Gutman's late wife. Our award winner for 2005 is Suzy Anger's Victorian Interpretation.
