Abstract
This essay is an attempt to clarify Angus Kerr-Lawson's view of the relation between spirit and reason in Santayana's thought by distinguishing reason from life of reason and spiritual life from spirituality. The essay offers an account of what a spiritual life might be like and describes some of the benefits of living for spiritual consummations.
