Louise Bethlehem is Senior Lecturer in the English Department and the former Chair of the Program in Cultural Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her book, Skin Tight: Apartheid Literary Culture and its Aftermath (Unisa Press, Brill 2006), was published in Hebrew translation by the dissident Tel Aviv publishing house Resling, in 2011. She has co-edited six volumes in the field of South African literature, African Studies and Cultural Studies. In December 2013, she was awarded a prestigious European Research Council Consolidators Grant for a five-year project entitled “Apartheid—The Global Itinerary: South African Cultural Formations in Transnational Circulation 1948–1990.” Louise can be reached at louise.bethlehem@mail.huji.ac.il
Ofer Cassif completed his PhD at the London School of Economics, where he also taught before going on to a postdoctorate at Columbia University. He currently serves as the chairperson of the international relations committee of the Israeli Communist Party, and teaches at several higher education institutions in Israel. Lev Grinberg is a political economist and sociologist in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Ben Gurion University. Grinberg is the founding Chair of the Department (2006–2009), and former Director of the Humphrey Institute for Social Research (1998–2003). His fields of specializations are the history of the Zionist Labor Movement, Israel’s political economy, and the sociology of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. He has recently launched a new research project on comparative resistance. Muhammad Ali Khalidi is associate professor of Philosophy at York University in Toronto, specializing mainly in the philosophy of science and cognitive science. He has also written extensively on aspects of the question of Palestine, including refugee rights, the ethics of war, and the morality of Zionism. Adel Manna is Senior Research Fellow at the Van Leer Institute, Jerusalem, and was the director of the Center for the Study of Arab Society in Israel until 2008. Manna is a historian of Palestine and the Palestinians in the Ottoman period and the 20th century. He recently completed a book which will be published next year both in Hebrew and Arabic on “Nakba and Survival: The untold story of Palestinians who remained in Israel, 1948–1956.” Adel can be reached at AdelM@vanleer.org.il
Jon Simons is Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Culture, Indiana University, Bloomington. His current project, Picturing Peace, analyzes critically the images (visual, pictorial, conceptual, ideological) of peace that are performed by Israeli peace activists, and assesses their significance as acts of political imagination. Trude Strand is pursuing her doctoral studies at the University of Oslo, Department of History. Her PhD research focuses on Israeli policy vis-à-vis the Gaza Strip, 1967–2010. Amir Nizar Zuabi is a Palestinian who trained as an actor at the Nisan Nativ drama studio and is a founder of the ShiberHur Company.
