Susan Verdi Webster is the Jane W. Mahoney Professor of Art History and American Studies at the College of William and Mary and Director of the college’s Latin American Studies Program. She is the author of numerous articles and several books on Iberian and colonial Latin American art and architecture. She is preparing a book about painters and the profession in early colonial Quito.

Mark Lentz is Assistant Professor of History at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, and co-editor with Dana Velasco Murillo and Margarita R. Ochoa of City Indians in Spain’s American Empire: Urban Indigenous Society in Colonial Mesoamerica and Andean South America, 1530–1810 (2012). His recent research and writing has been supported by a stipend and stay at the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History. He has also received fellowships to participate in National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institutes (2012, 2013).

Iñigo García-Bryce is Associate Professor of History and Director of the Center for Latin American and Border Studies at New Mexico State University. He is the author of Crafting the Republic: Lima’s Artisans and Nation-Building in Peru, 1821–1879 (2004), published in translation as República con ciudadanos: los artesanos de Lima, 1821–1879 (2008). Selected as a Fulbright Scholar for Peru (2009), he was visiting professor at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. His current research focuses on the history of APRA (Peru’s Alianza Popular Revolucionaria Americana). He has published an article and book chapter on the topic and is completing a book of interviews with some early APRA members.

Jean-Philippe Belleau is Assistant Professor in the Latin American and Iberian Studies Department at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. His article “The Ethnic Lives of Missionaries: Early Inculturation Theology in Mato Grosso, Brazil,” was published in 2013.
