REVIEW OF THE XXVlII ANNUAL MEETING OF THE DIVISION The twenty-eighth annual meeting of the Southeastern Division of the Association of American Geographers was held November 18-20, 1973, at the Center for Continuing Education in Boone, North Carolina. The host institution was Appalachian State University. H. Daniel Stilwell was in charge of local arrangements. James O. Wheeler was chairman of the program committee. There were 245 persons registered for the meetings. After the Division membership was welcomed by Herbert W. Wey, Chancellor of Appalachian State University, a program of 55 papers occupied two days. Preston E. James, Maxwell Professor Emeritus of Syracuse University, addressed the banquet on the subject, "The Southern Studies Project: A Paragraph in the History of American Geography." In the honors competition, the winner was Jeffrey T. Lutz, University of North Carolina.
