Mie Augier is a post doctoral fellow at Stanford University. She has published in journals such as Public Administration Review, Journal of Management Inquiry, Industrial and Corporate Change, Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Management and Governance, and Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization. She is currently editing (with James G. March) a book in honor of Herbert A. Simon's contributions, forthcoming with MIT press.

Kevin Elliott is in the Program in History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Notre Dame. He is currently examining philosophical, scientific, and ethical issues associated with risk assessment, with emphasis on the low-dose effects of toxic chemicals and carcinogens.

Marjorie Grene is Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at the University of California Davis and Adjunct Professor and Honorary Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech. She has worked in a number of areas in the history of philosophy and in the philosophy of biology and is the author of a dozen books, including A Portrait of Aristotle, reprinted by Thoemmes in 1998. At present she is working, with David Depew, on a book on relations between biology and philosophy for a Cambridge series on "The Evolution of Modern Philosophy."

A. I. Sabra is Professor of The History of Arabic Science, emeritus, at Harvard University. He has written studies and edited texts in Arabic optics and astronomy. He has just completed an edition and English translation of Books IV and V containing the experimental and mathematical core of Ibn al-Haytham's Optics.

George Saliba is professor of Arabic and Islamic Science at Columbia University. He works on the general development of scientific ideas during Islamic times with a special interest in the development of planetary theories. His most recent works include A History of Arabic Astronomy: Planetary Theories During the Golden Age of Islam, NYU Press, 1995, and the Origin and Development of Arabic Scientific Thought (ARABIC), Balamand, Lebanon, 1998.

Esther-Mirjam Sent is Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Faculty Fellow in the Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values at the University of Notre Dame. She has published articles in Studies in History and Philosophy of Science, Journal of Economic Methodology, History of Political Economy, and Philosophy of Science, among other journals. Her book The Evolving Rationality of Rational Expectations: An Assessment of Thomas Sargent's Achievements (Cambridge University Press, 1998) was awarded the 1999 Gunnar Myrdal Prize of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy. Along with Philip Mirowski, she edited Science Bought and Sold: Essays in the Economics of Science (University of Chicago Press, forthcoming).

Kristin Shrader-Frechette is O'Neill Family Professor of Philosophy and Concurrent Professor of Biological Sciences at the University of Notre Dame.
