James Annesley is senior lecturer in English at Kingston University, London. He is the author of Blank Fictions: Consumerism, Culture and the Contemporary American Novel (St. Martin's, 1998).

Paul Bové is a Professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh. His works include Intellectuals in Power: A Genealogy of Critical Humanism, In the Wake of Theory, and Mastering Discourse: The Politics of Intellectual Culture. He is currently at work on a book about Henry Adams.

Ellen Crowell teaches in the Department of English at Saint Louis University. Her article "Ghosting the Llangollen Ladies: Female Intimacy, Ascendancy Exile, and the Anglo-Irish Novel" appears in the Fall 2004 issue of Eire-Ireland, the journal of the Irish-American Cultural Institute. She is currently working on a manuscript that examines the ruling-class literatures of Protestant Ireland and the Anglo-American South through the lens of dandyism.

Annette Gilson <Gilson@oakland.edu> teaches in the Department of English at Oakland University. Her article, "'Some Particular Pantomimic Ravishment': [Henry James's] 'Broken Wings' and the Performance of Success" appeared in "The Finer Thread, The Tighter Weave": Essays on the Short Fiction of Henry James; her work has also been published in Twentieth Century Literature. Her novel, New Light (August 2004), was published by Black Heron Press.

Graham Huggan <G.D.M.Huggan@leeds.ac.uk> teaches in the school of English at the University of Leeds. He is the coauthor of Tourists with Typewriters: Critical Reflections on Contemporary Travel Writing (1998), and the author of The Postcolonial Exotic: Marketing the Margins (2001). He is currently working on a coauthored book on postcolonialism, animals, and the environment.

Ruth Parkin-Gounelas <gounelas@lit.auth.gr> is Professor in the Department of English and Culture at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and Life Member of Clare Hall, Cambridge University. She is the author of Fictions of the Female Self (Macmillan, 1990) and Literature and Psychoanalysis: Intertextual Readings (Palgrave, 2001). Among work in progress is a coedited volume entitled Objects: Material, Psychic, Aesthetic.

Robin Roberts is the author of A New Species: Gender and Science in Science Fiction (1993), Anne McCaffrey: A Critical Companion (1996), Ladies First: Women in Music Videos (1996), and Sexual Generations: Star Trek: The Next Generation and Gender (1999). She is completing a literary biography of Anne McCaffrey and teaches at Louisiana State University.

Laura Winkiel teaches at Iowa State University. She is the author of Circuses and Spectacles: Manifestoes and Modernism at the End of Empire, 1909–1936, and the coeditor of Geomodernisms: Race, Modernism, Modernity, both forthcoming. She has published articles on Valerie Solanas and Djuana Barnes.
