Contributors' Notes Gary Brozio graduated from UCI. This is his first published poem. James Camp is the author of Carnal Refreshment and other books. John Drury's chapbook is Fire in the Wax Museum. Jeffrey Greene, a Nation Discovery Award winner, has had poems in The New Yorker and elsewhere. Ed Hirsch's new book of poems, Wild Gratitude, will be published by Knopf in January, 1986. Andrew Hudgins' Saints and Strangers will be out in the fall through Houghton Mifflin. Mark Jarman's new book is Far and Away. Edmund Keeley's translations of Yannis Ritsos' selected poems, Exile and Return, will appear this fall from Ecco Press. Wing Tek Lum is a Honolulu businessman and poet. Walter McDonald's poems have appeared recently in Poetry, The Atlantic, and TriQuarterly. Colleen McElroy's newest book is Queen of the Ebony Isles. Greg Pape is the author of Border Crossings and Black Branches. Michael Pettit's book, American Light, was published in 1984 by the University of Georgia Press. Len Roberts' book of poems, The Driving, will appear in Spring 1986. Pattiann Rogers has a second book, The Tattooed Lady in the Garden, to be published in 1986. Vern Rutsala has a new book, Backtracking, which will appear this fall. William Trowbridge has published poems in Kenyon Review, Prairie Schooner, Trendril, and many other magazines. Ron Carlson has published two novels, Betrayed by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Truants, both from Norton. Margaret Hermes has a novel, The Phoenix Nest, published in 1981 by Contemporary Books, Inc. Charles Kuschinski lives in Mexico, where he is working on his second novel. Susan Land's fiction has appeared in The Carlton Miscellany and The Alaska Quarterly Review. Bret Lott's stories have appeared in The Iowa Review, Yale Review, and elsewhere. Bharati Mukherjee lives in Iowa City. Ninotchka Rosea was born in the Philippines. Her most recent collection of stories is The Monsoon Collection. Sandra Scofield has a piece coming in Pushcart Press' Stories for the Eighties. Will Baker is the author of two novels and a non-fiction book, Backward. The essay included here is from his prize-winning collection, Mountain Blood, to be published by University of Georgia Press.
