K. C. Elhard is a humanities cataloger and assistant professor of library administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She holds a master’s degree in art history from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests focus on the intersections between the history of art and the history of the book, including the interdependent and cooperative aspects of library technical services.
Jean-Pierre V. M. Hérubel is a philosophy/history and art/design bibliographer, reference librarian, and associate professor of library science at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree and doctorate from Kent State University. His articles and reviews have appeared in interdisciplinary and library journals, including Libraries & Culture, and he is the author of Annales Historiography and Theory: A Selective and Annotated Bibliography (Greenwood Press, 1994). He also serves as a bibliographer for the semiannual publication French Historical Studies. His research interests include historiography and the philosophy of history, the history of disciplines, bibliometrics, and intellectual and cultural history.
Richard W. Oram is the associate director and Hobby Foundation Librarian of the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin. He received an M.L.I.S. from the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in English from Cornell University. He is the coeditor of two volumes from the Knopf Inc. Archives to appear in the Directory of Literary Biography series and has written articles on English literature, special collections, and library history.
John Mark Tucker is dean of Library & Information Resources at Abilene Christian University as well as professor emeritus of library science at Purdue University, where he served as humanities, social science, and education librarian. He holds a bachelor of arts from Lipscomb University; M.L.S. and Ed.S. degrees from Peabody College, Vanderbilt University; and a doctorate from the University of Illinois. His research interests include academic librarianship during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and library historiography. His scholarly activity [End Page 186] includes the coauthorship of American Library History: A Comprehensive Guide to the Literature (1989) and the editorship of Untold Stories: Civil Rights, Libraries, and Black Librarianship (1998). He has served on the advisory board for Libraries & Culture and the editorial board for the Dictionary of American Library Biography, 2nd Supplement.
Sanja Zgonjanin is a student at the City University of New York Law School, where she is a candidate for the J.D. She holds an un-dergraduate degree from the University of Sarajevo in Yugoslavia, a master’s degree from Columbia University in New York, and a degree in library and information science from Queens College in New York. Her research interests focus on the legal protection of cultural property, preservation and conservation, legal research teaching, and reference law librarianship.
