Andrzej Durlik is a reference librarian at the Jefferson County Public Library in Lakewood, Colorado. He holds an undergraduate degree in forest resources from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in library and information studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Areas of current interest and research include library technology and automation, digitization, reference, and cataloging.

Karen L. Pavelka is a lecturer in preservation and conservation studies at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Texas at Austin. She holds an M.L.I.S. and an advanced certificate in conservation from Columbia University. She has served as the head of the Paper Conservation Lab at the Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin and as project coordinator at Vilassar de Dalt in Barcelona, Spain. Areas of special interest include modern ink formulations and the physical characteristics of parchment documents.

Katherine Pennavaria is the library coordinator at the Western Kentucky Library in Glasgow. She has an undergraduate degree in English composition from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, a master’s degree in English literature from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, and an M.L.S. from the Indiana University School of Library and Information Science. Special interests focus on the history of libraries and information storage, the self-perception of librarians, and the role of libraries in public education efforts.

Robert G. Waite is the senior historian in the Office of Special Investigations, United States Department of Justice, in Washington, D.C. He has studied at the Universities of Wurzburg and Munich and holds a Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He has taught at the University of Maryland, European Division, the Idaho State University, and Boise State University. His areas of interest include German social history, the Holocaust, and law enforcement and crime in America.
