Announcements HUSSERL ARCHIVE AT THE NEW SCHOOL The Husserl Archive at the New School has been established in the memory of Alfred Schutz. This archive contains a complete set of Husserl's inedi.ta photocopied from the original transcriptions held in the Husserl Archive at Louvain. The contents of the Husserl Archive at The New School are in German and can be read without the use of a machine. MARQUETTE HEGEL SYMPOSIUM The summer of 1970 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Georg Wilhelm Fnedrieh Hegel, and the Philosophy Department of Marquette University will hold a four-day international symposium on Hegel's intellectual legacy during the first week of June. Other international commemorative events in 1970 include publication of a set of special volumes, edited by European scholars, devoted to different facets of Hegel's thought, a Hegel conference in Stuttgart in July,.and a Hegel World Congress to be held in Berlin in August under the auspices of the Internationale Hegel Gesellschaft. The Marquette Hegel Symposium, the only Hegel anniversary event of its kind in North America, will feature participants from Europe and North America. Principal participauts: Professors Shlomo Avinen (Hebrew University, Jerusalem), Jean-Yves Calvez (University of Paris), Emil Fackenheim (University of Toronto), J. N. Findlay (Yale and Oxford Universities), Eric Weil (University of Lille), Kenley Dove (Yale University), Otto PSggeler (Ruhr Universit~t-Bochum), James Doull (Dalhousie University), and Kenneth Schinitz (Catholic University). Instead of the usual format of lengthy formal reading of papers, the sessions are designed for panel and plenary discussion, with papers of principal speakers being duplicated in advance for distribution to participants. Proceedings of the symposium will subsequently be published.
