This issue of the Journal of the Early American Republic shows what can happen when the so-called Lost Atlantis is lost no more. Historians of American electoral politics no longer have to speculate about American democracy between the years of 1787 and 1825 because there is now a collection of election results for those years. Dubbed A New Nation Votes (NNV), it presents a more comprehensive picture of the early American electoral landscape than has previously been possible.
