Raymond A. Mohl is Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His most recent book is South of the South: Jewish Activists and the Civil Rights Movement in Miami, 1945–1960 (University Press of Florida, 2004). He is currently writing a book on the interstates and the cities.

William R. Lowry is Professor of Political Science at Washington University. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University in 1988. He studies American politics, environmental policy, and natural-resource issues. He is the author of four books as well as numerous articles. His latest book, Dam Politics (Georgetown University Press, 2003), discusses efforts to restore natural conditions on American rivers.

James T. Sparrow is Assistant Professor of History at the University of Chicago. He is currently writing a book on the social politics of the national state in World War II.

Wyatt Wells is Professor of History at Auburn University-Montgomery. He holds a Ph.D. in American History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is the author of American Capitalism, 1945–2000 (2003), Antitrust and the Formation of the Postwar World (2002), and Economist in an Uncertain World: Arthur F. Burns and the Federal Reserve, 1970–1978 (1994), as well as several articles and numerous book reviews.
