Abstract

Angeliki Spiropoulou’s Virginia Woolf, Modernity and History: Constellations with Walter Benjamin examines the philosophies of history deployed by Virginia Woolf and Walter Benjamin. Following the evolution of Woolf ’s works, it poses a number of questions inspired by Benjamin’s materialist and dialectical critique. Spiropoulou sees many points of convergence between the two corpuses, and creates a new “constellation” in which Woolf and Benjamin engage in a productive dialogue.
