Lori Price Aultman is assistant professor in the Division of Academic Enhancement at the University of Georgia. Her former career in secondary school counseling provides a foundation for her current research specialization: students' experiences and self-regulatory processes during the transition from secondary to post-secondary education.

Karen Fitts is associate professor of English at West Chester University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in composition and rhetoric, cultural studies, and literary theory. Her areas of scholarly interest include composition pedagogy and the rhetoric of medical discourse.

Helen Gerretson is assistant professor at the University of South Florida. Her teaching/research interests include the mathematical (content and pedagogical) development of school teachers and the assessment of critical thought. Dr. Gerretson is the former Chair of the Mathematics Skills Area Committee of the University of Northern Colorado General Education Council.

Shawn M. Glynn is a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor in Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia. His area of specialization is the psychology of learning and motivation. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and has been a Fulbright Senior Research Fellow (Germany).

Emily Golson is professor of English at the University of Northern Colorado. Her teaching/research interests are in assessment, critical/ creative thinking, style, and mythology. She has pursued these interests through many teaching and administrative assignments, including Chair of the General Education Council, Director of Composition, and Director of the University Writing Center.

David Paul is President of the Fiscal Strategies Group, an investment banking and financial advisory firm. Until 2004, Dr. Paul served as Vice Provost of Drexel University. Dr. Paul holds a BA in economics from Yale University, and an MBA in Finance and a doctorate in Higher Education Management from University of Pennsylvania.

Ashley M. Owens recently received her Ph.D. from the University [End Page v] of Georgia and will be an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Western Carolina University, North Carolina, in the coming academic year. Her area of specialization is the psychology of learning and motivation. She is currently conducting research on case-based instruction.

Sarah Wyatt is a plant developmental biologist. She has co-authored over 20 scientific papers and a variety of materials for outreach and education. Her teaching focuses on enhancing active learning and critical thinking. Her course offerings range from introductory biology for non-majors to advanced courses in molecular genetics/physiology.
