Editors' Note

With this issue, Louis Swift, recently emeritus from the Classics Department at the University of Kentucky, assumes the position of Book Review Editor for the Journal of Early Christian Studies. We wish to thank Joseph Kelly for his six years of fine service in this position and for his efficient work in the transfer of responsibilities to the new Book Review Editor. Louis Swift can be reached at lswift@uky.edu, and he welcomes your suggestions for the book review section.

Louis Swift is well known to members of NAPS. In the early 1970s, he assisted in writing the first constitution for the Society and in getting NAPS incorporated in the State of Kentucky. He served as editor of the newsletter for a decade and sat on the Executive Committee. Early in NAPS's history, he helped to organize joint meetings of our fledgling group with the American Philological Association and the American Society of Church History. NAPS's strength today owes much to the tireless efforts of Louis Swift. We look forward to working with him in his new capacity as Book Review Editor.
