EDITORS NOTE: It is with celebration of her new duties as Chair of the Department of History at the University of Illinois-Urbana, marked with sadness on our end, that we announce the departure of Antoinette Burton as General Book Review Editor. She has been a resource to this publication that is immeasurable in terms of not only the quality and quantity of the reviews she has submitted, but also for her support in the entire enterprise from getting launched to rounding up superb contributors, especially in several of the special issues we have produced. Professor Burton is not leaving the JCCH altogether, however, as she will be joining the Editorial Board beginning in Spring 2006 with Volume 7 No. 1.

With much pleasure we announce that Durba Ghosh will officially join us as General Book Review Editor beginning with Volume 7, No. 1, in the spring of 2006. Professor Ghosh has already been busy notifying pubishers that she has taken over this time consuming (if rewarding) position. We are indeed fortunate that Durba has agreed to join us.. The Editorial Board and the other editors accompany me in welcoming Professor Ghosh to the JOURNAL OF COLONIALISM AND COLONIAL HISTORY. She can be reached at the Department of History, Cornell University: dg256@cornell.edu
