The article examines Gideon Hausner's (1915–1990) appointment as attorney-general and later chief prosecutor in the Eichmann trial, his attitude towards the main issues that arose during the trial, his position on the issue of Jewish heroism during the Holocaust, how he became the definitive personification of the trial, and Shmuel Tamir's opposition to the trial.
